Pete lives in a row home in the 6th Ward of Lancaster City, just east of Lancaster General Hospital with his two rescue cats, Alergy and Zero, and his two rescue Dobermans, Dolce and Bella.

He was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania and grew up in New Garden Township. Pete is the youngest of six children and gained an interest in politics from his father who was a township supervisor for over 30 years. Pete is a 1987 graduate of Kennett High School where he served as Senior Class President. Upon graduation he entered Millersville University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management.  He's been a Lancaster County resident ever since.

Pete started out his professional career working for Chester County Department of Emergency Services in the capacity of 911 Telecommunicator, Police/Fire/EMS dispatcher, and Alternate Shift Supervisor. For the past 15 years Pete has worked in the sales field, mostly in telecommunications. While at Verizon Communications Pete served as a union steward for CWA Local 13500 and later in ma

nagement, giving him experience with both labor and management's points of view on issues. Since 1997 Pete has always worked at least two jobs simultaneously.  Currently Pete is working as the lead salesperson at Gardner's Mattress & More, a Lancaster City based, independently owned business that features in its product line  22 models that are made right here in Lancaster County!

Pete is an active member of many local organizations and is a Past Master of Lamberton Lodge No. 476, Free and Accepted Masons in Lancaster, PA and also belongs to many subordinate lodge

s including York Rite (Chapter, Council, Commandery) , Scottish Rite (Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Harrisburg Consistory), Ubar Grotto and Zembo Shrine. He donates his time and is the webmaster for the First Masonic District of PA and the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection.

Pete co-founded the Lancaster 505 Happy Hour Club which was created (pre-facebook) to give local business people a chance to network for free after work

while supporting locally owned restaurants. He also created and is the editor of People of Lancaster, a comedy page on Facebook that also covers local news and current events. The 505 and POL support the Lancaster City Police K-9 and Mounted Patrols through a fund-raising event every December called the Santa Stumble. In 2011 he helped raise $3000 for the Lancaster City Police Foundation and his goal for 2012 is $10,000.

If any spare time invades his busy schedule Pete enjoys taking his dogs to the Buchanan dog park and enjoys cheering (and yelling at) Philadelphia sports teams.
